EUROPEAN COUNTRY REPRODUCTION COLLECTION FINISHES
Coach Barn offers the unique hand-applied finishes below that are exclusive to our EUROPEAN COUNTRY REPRODUCTION COLLECTION ONLY that make our pieces stand out from standard furniture. Our finishes include traditional English wax finishes, painted and distressed alternatives and crackle and faux finishes. Some multi-process finishes require as many as 21 separate applications. Using wood from managed forests, each piece is hand-finished to make new furniture appear antiquated. Fine craftsmen use time-tested techniques alongside modern production methods to produce YOUR custom furniture piece. First, select your base painted color and then choose an optional multi-process finish (see below). * With our classic European country antique reproductions, we are now proud to offer two New Designer Finishes -- PREMIUM DISTRESS (painted finish) and SATINWOOD (stain finish). Our PREMIUM DISTRESS (PD) is a 21 step faux finish with a wonderful combination of fine crackle and distress along with darker glaze and characteristics of a time worn painted finish. Available in Antique White, Antique Blue, Black, Creme Brulee (available in this finish only), Celadon, Charcoal, China Red, Linen White, Nutmeg, Olive Grove, Sky and Terra Cotta. SATINWOOD (SW) is a handsome stain finish that has a reflective sheen of luxurious satinwood with many levels of depth and character including distress, fly specking, pin holes and multiple layers of glaze.
Contact us for pricing on these New Designer Finishes which is generally the multi-process finish surcharge plus 20% (i.e., if the Multi-Process Finish surcharge is $100 then the Premium Distress Surcharge is only $120.)
COACH BARN offers the following multi-process finishes available on all painted finishes:
Galway Crackle is a 15 step hand-applied finish of a single antique color over a dark-base coat heavily crackled with minimal distressing. Lighter colors will crack through to the finish undercoat; while darker colors will not crackle through revealing the undercoat.
Canterbury Crackle is a Galway Finish with fine crackle and subtle distressing at the points of normal wear. Below are color examples showing the process as it changes from light colors to dark.
Heavy Canterbury Crackle is a Galway Finish with very heavy distressing at the points-of-normal-wear. Below are color examples showing the process as it changes from light colors to dark.
Premium Distress* is a 21 step faux finish with a wonderful combination of fine crackle and distress along with darker glaze and characteristics of a time worn painted finish. Available in 12 colors as described above.
